Dear mailing list members,
Hopefully I can get support for below issue.
I recently upgraded from Lubuntu 16.04 to 18.04 and did not find any
issues on applications I previously used.
Unfortunately now Software Updater is not working.
Menu System Tools/Software Updater shows update information but does not
update:
After clicking on Install Now the Updater screen will be shown only for
a few seconds.
I used LXTerminal to be able to show error message shown below.
Update error after trying to update using /usr/bin/update-manager
cp-admin at cpadmin-PX707AA-ABH-SR1409NL-NL520:/usr/bin$ cd /usr/bin
cp-admin at cpadmin-PX707AA-ABH-SR1409NL-NL520:/usr/bin$ update-manager

_Extra information about upgrade:__
_During the upgrade I got a question about "Configuring
unattanded-upgrades" the following Help information was shown:
>>>
A new version (/etc/apt/apt.conf.d/50unattended-ipgrades.ucftmp) of
configuration file "/etc/apt/apt.conf.d/50unattended-ipgrades is
available, but the version installed currently has been locally modified.
<<<
I responded with "install the package maintainer's version" i.s.o. "keep
the local version currently installed"
Checked currently available versions of files starting with 50:
ls -l /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/50*
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 625 mrt 16 12:23
/etc/apt/apt.conf.d/50command-not-found
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3728 jul 18 13:22
/etc/apt/apt.conf.d/50unattended-upgrades
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2656 mei 20 2017
/etc/apt/apt.conf.d/50unattended-upgrades.ucf-dist
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2331 apr 2 2014
/etc/apt/apt.conf.d/50unattended-upgrades.ucf-old
