Trouble installing Xubuntu 18.04 on brand new Del 17 3000

Hi,

A few month's ago, I had to reset the password on an HP laptop for someone
(and yes, it did belong to them).

I had to do all sorts of things before it would let me change it to allow
booting from a CD or DVD. I found the relevant information from YouTube and
managed to enable a compatibility mode where non-UEFI discs could be booted.

Whilst YouTube and Google is useful, I would suggest looking at Dell's
website and/or asking Dell technical support for help.
