You've got me wondering how one might quickly turn the hotspot on and then
back off when not otherwise in use. It looks quite involved, and I'm a bit
timid of configuration stuff generally. However, thanks for the info
Gilles, I may give it a try on my "lesser" laptop in order to avoid
calamity.
