Dual display on separate GPUs

I have a laptop featuring the Intel HD 620 iGPU and an Nvidia 940MX GPU.
I'm running my laptop connected to an external display to extend it and
want to play some relatively lightweight games on the external display.
With the 940MX selected in the Nvidia X Server Settings, the games
themselves run fine, but I can't have a YouTube video playing on the second
display (built-in display on the laptop) because when I do, my frame rates
drop dramatically on both the video and the game. Whenever I'm at the
game's menu or loading screen, where there are no 3D effects/objects/etc,
or when I've paused the YouTube video. the frame rates speed back up to
normal on both displays until I'm back in the actual game.
*The Question:* Can I set up the built-in display on the laptop to run off
of the intel iGPU while the Nvidia GPU runs the external display? A brief
look online shows some people discussing similar things, but I haven't
really found steps/tutorials on how exactly to go about the process of
setting it up and from what I've found the people discussing it have two
dedicated cards in a tower, not a dedicated and integrated GPUs and not in
a laptop.
