Firefox 67.0 NOT WORKING

When I disabled all the extensions in the old profile, it didn't help.

I tried several of the suggestions on how to fix the installed instance
of FF that were sent to me. Nothing worked.

So, I actually I started with an entirely new profile. i.e. bare bones
as if newly installed. So I didn't have to disable extensions, there
were none. Since then I've been rebuilding my old profile.

I've also been keeping a eye out for problems as I add configuration
data to the new profile. Often clearing all history, existing, and
restarting FF, and finally entering the URL of a stable (government) site.

So far I've

      • reconfigured the new profile from screenshots of the old one,

      • backed up the bookmarks from the old profile,

           · restored them to the new one,

      • added the most important extensions,

           · minus a few unnecessary dictionaries and localizations,

          · and, of course legacy extensions,

      • added search engines the FF WEB add-on page found.

So far everything is fine.

All that remains are the WEB site passwords. This will take time as I
have to extract them manually using screenshots, an OCR program, and a
text editor.

Truly, I don't know how I can enter them into FF. Furthermore, I
thinking of using a separate password manager.

A heart felt thanks to everyone for all the suggestions and help.
