There's a big difference between "kernel-install" on one side and
"dracut" and "mkinitcpio" on the other.

"dracut" and "mkinitcpio" create an initramfs, using various modules.
For example, systemd can be enabled|disabled.

"kernel-install" installs a kernel and an initramfs, using various
modules, like creating an inittramfs or a grub configuration file.
