Ubuntu desktop - can't login

HI all.
I am running Ubuntu desktop  19.10 on my laptop. I did an upgrade a few
hours ago and rebooted.
Then when I try to login it doesn't allow me anymore.
So I ssh the laptop with the same user and I can login then became root and
create another account.
Back on the laptop now I can login with the new user but cannot with the
first user.


Any idea? what is gone wrong and how to recover form it?
