Ubuntu desktop - can't login

Hi Colin.
I couldn't login from the GUI on the desktop.... but I could login with
with the same user in ssh.
Then I created another user and I could login with the new user from the
GUI...but still nothing with my user.
I played a bit with the .Xauthority file and now it seems to be ok
