[off-topic] 3 Displays on Focal Fossa

Quite off-topic, but not necessarily irrelevant. I'm using the syslinux
bootloader. Sometimes I want to use two screens and sometimes I want to
use one screen only. If both scrrens are connected, a HDMI and a VGA
monitor and only the HDMI is powered on, the bootloader's menu is not
displayed. It is only available by the VGA monitor. The only
workarounds are either to connect the HDMI monitor by another port and
to connect the VGA monitor by another port. Unfortunately only the HDMI
display provides other ports, e.g. a VGA port, but the other monitor is
a CRT just providing a VGA port. IOW I always need to disconnect the
CRT, if I want to use the other display only or to turn it on for the
bootloader menu and after startup to turn it off. Actually I decided to
disconnect the CRT and only to use the HDMI display, even if I wish to
have both displays.
IOW even if you get to manage how to use 3 monitors, it could cause
issues, if you do not want to always use all of them. Dunno if GRUB2 is
"smarter" than syslinux is.
