I think if you connect it via usb... you will need to start over if you
really want it via wifi later. It doesn't move anything forward. I've
never found direct connection useful as a prelude to a network setup. They
are completely different. If you want it directly connected, that's fine,
and it is easier to setup than network. But do not directly connect as a
means of getting *half-way* to a network one. It won't help.
