Evolution won't work over bridge?!?

well, evolution gets the online/offline info from network-manager,
assuming you did not create your bridge device with NM it will simply
not know about its existence ... 

so i'd rather call that a network-manager bug (it should be possible to
detect statically enabled devices that are in use even if it does not
manage them) ...
