Regarding https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases Ubuntu 16.04.6 LTS support
ends in a year, "End of Standard Support April 2021".

I don't know what packages your Ubuntu flavour install and my minimalist
Ubuntu install have in common, probably 'git' is one of those packages.
I'm updating manually by command line and I remember that git and git-
man were upgraded this month.
