Upgrading to Ubuntu 20, *how* to back up?

Yes, I didn't want to go into that at the time, but I suspect most 
people who habitually use multiple computers have a script of some kind 
that can be used to build a new instance of the OS. Mine is quite large, 
but I use some specialist software which is not in the standard repos.

Same again. Mine is all in Subversion repos on one of my servers, so I 
can edit, build, sync, and keep safe.
