That is a wonderful new word for me - thank you!
Tried their solution - fastboot was already disabled, so it made no diff. But searching their knowledge base again gave another solution, which did work:
sudo fwupdmgr clear-offline
fwupdmgr refresh
fwupdmgr update
Reboot and wait for it to apply - it may take 1 - 2 minutes. How impatient have we become!
