Question about Ubuntu support

Hello techlists at gmx.com

hello,

my 5/28th post generated responses, quite a few, unrelated!
still, I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the post.

support issue/confusion stated in original post
also applicable to the 20.04.x LTS as well.

the original question was, if I was unclear,
I apologize, about the Core of OS :

i.e. what's left, when stripping away *every*
end-user applications, which is about, I don't know
15 or 20 millions lines of code, maybe more.

So let me rephrase the original post, the essence remains the same:

Canonical provides 5 years of support for Ubuntu 18.04.x LTS
downloaded off of ubuntu.com.

Clicking on any spins here:
https://ubuntu.com/download/flavours

one "leaves" Canonical's official site, and landing
on each of the spins' websites. Each of which, let
say, kubuntu.org , say that they provide only 3 years of
support for what they call Kubuntu 18.04.x LTS

Question(s):

Will I get 5 years of support for the Core OS if I download
Kubuntu 18.04.x LTS from kubuntu.org ?

Apparently no, according to the website.

Is "ubuntu OS" they [or any other spin] offer different
than the "ubuntu OS" Canonical offers?

If you wish to reply please consider that issues is
revolving around support for the Core of OS.

Thank you,
F-
