what do you want to see in future apt versions ?

I am afraid that already I don't know what your aliases mean.  Update
the current version of what?  What does 'update' mean?  Option 2 says
the current version is being replaced by a new version, but if option
1 updates it (whatever it is) how can you update something without
replacing it with a new one?
