I agree that just stating "I do/don't like X" is not useful. But, if
you say WHY you do/don't like X, that can be informative and useful for
us novices. For example - "I like editor Y because it handles
bibliographies as I write a book" or "I like editor Z because it
formats many computer languages for writing code" or " I like K3b
because it keeps me informed of progress and problems as it writes the
disk" or " I don't like disk burner B because it fails and doesn't say
why it failed". The WHY is the useful part - a bit more writing but
adds much to the discussion.
