By sheer coincidence, I had installed it just this AM.  And it seems to
work fine.  Note: "because dependencies," I went through my usual dance
for non-repo DEBs:
* Download file 
* dpkg --install <file> 
* apt-get -f install # Fix dependencies that weren't automatically
installed 

I assume there's a way -- probably with apt-get or apt -- to remove a
step from this process, but I've never been compelled enough to find it.
