[off-topic] Where does umask get set at system startup? Mine seems to have changed to 0002 recently

Ok, barring embedded systems and jailed or somehow locked systems
(apart from "regular restricted" MacOS and Windows), smart phones,
Rasperries, cars, washing machines, routers, tablets (OTOH my iPadOS
iPadPro is a powerful, professional computer), hobby usage VMs,
satellite receivers, live media (USB, DVD...) etc., but counting
servers, desktop PCs, including machines using "normal" BSD jails in a
"normal way", "normal containers", professional used VMs, laptops,
notebooks. Is it possible to estimate market shares of single-user and
multi-user machines? I haven't got the slightest idea. Does my
single-user multi-boot machine with several user accounts per install
count as a multi-user machine? Even if I would start several different
user sessions, I only would use one session at a time.
