How to tell which repositories provide which packages?

In which case, we'd go back to the drawing board and come up with
some new ways of doing it.

Even better would be to get rid of them. I've managed to replace one
of them, but still have work to do on the others.

No idea. I'll leave that to you. My Bash code is often horribly bulky
and even a bit awkward, but usually eventually manages to get the job
done despite that. I do admire the streamlined elegance of others'
code, though.
