No, not at all. LO is newer and far more feature-rich.

A slightly unlikely possibility: some bits of LO use Java. Check if
you have a JVM installed:

$ java -version

If you don't, install one:

You did not say what version of Ubuntu you are running or what version
of LibreOffice it has.
