I have simply uninstalled Chromium (which I had only installed as an
occasional alternative to Firefox) and have uninstalled snapd as well.

There's not many things require snap.

I think Digikam's use of AppImage is a much better approach for things
like this, it's entirely up to me if/when I install a new[er] version
of Digikam.
