Boot confusion

I am refreshing hard drives in my computer running 20.04.

Purchased new Seagate Exos 14tb spinning drive for /home.

I think I have succesfully moved /home to

/dev/sdc1


I have older 250gig ssd as my boot drive (I thought)

"/dev/sda1                  229G  169G   48G  78% /"

But apparently, I need one of the older hard drives to boot. The 1tb ssd.

Where is grub sitting?

I have to tell the BIOS to boot off the 1tb drive to boot.

If I tell it the 250gig SSD it stop at loading operating system.


How can I get it to boot off the 250gig drive.

And to complicate it further I have purchased a 1tb SSD I want to boot off.
