This is definitely wrong - full UEFI support in Ubuntu has been working
for most of a decade.  I did a fair bit of the work on it back when I
was working on Canonical's Ubuntu Foundations team pre-2015.

I believe basic UEFI installation support goes back to about Ubuntu
10.10 (so 12.04 as the first LTS release).  Ubuntu 12.10 (or 14.04 if
you're only considering LTS releases) was the first release to support
UEFI Secure Boot.
