fdisk shows:

Command (m for help): p
Disk /dev/sdb: 29 GiB, 31142707200 bytes, 60825600 sectors
Disk model: USB Flash Disk
Units: sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disklabel type: dos
Disk identifier: 0x14cca086

Device Boot Start End Sectors Size Id Type
/dev/sdb1 * 0 4030463 4030464 1.9G 0 Empty
/dev/sdb2 608 8543 7936 3.9M ef EFI (FAT-12/16/32)
/dev/sdb3 4030464 60825599 56795136 27.1G 83 Linux

partition sdb3 shows as type 83 and sdb2 as ef,

it's basically trivial to reformat it and reinstall. I used etcher to
install from a mint mirror's .iso
