NOT Completely Logged out

I have a situation with one of my financial institutions. When I log out 
I am STILL connected and the website still considers me logged in. It 
manifests itself by issuing a warning that my connection is about to 
expire via a pop-up window. None of my other sites behave in this 
manner. What is the cause of this activity?

I user Firefox and Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS with all updates applied.
