No Sound on Laptop

While on Windows 10 sound and video worked, it is not working on
Ubuntu / LinuxMint / AVLinux. Whatever suggestions I could find on the
net, I have tried.

I am sure it is not possible that there is no solution for this in Ubuntu.

UHD 605, i915, HDMI Intel HDA GeminiLake - Graphics is working fine,
but No Sound on speakers or headphones and need microphone also to
work.

Being a work laptop, I am looking for an early suggestion, else after
2004 this would be the first time ever, I will need to revert back to
Windows.

Thanks
