There wasn't any point posting it here, we can all look at the link.
As I said, I believe it is only talking about the UEFI firmware, which
you are not trying to update, but I am not an expert in this area.

My understanding is that all that is doing is disabling the warning,
so won't make any difference to the upgrade

As to what you should do I suggest first checking the release notes
for that firmware, to see whether it is of any consequence.
There is always a risk when updating any firmware, though I have never
had any problems doing it.  Obviously you should take a full disc
backup first.  I use Clonezilla for that.
