Installed the iso OK. Rebooted OK.
Ran Software Updater 177.3MB to download and install. Update proceeded and
then stalled with the message "Preconfiguring Packages".

System involved is a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop, kernel 5.13.0-16 x86_64. I
used an Ethernet connection to access the Internet.

I am a bit short of time.

I closed the Software Updater window (using ALT+F4). Ran Software Updater
again and it stalled again. Tried shutting down cleanly and it stalled as
well.

This is what I installed:-
