External hard drives in linux

Open the Mate file browser Caja. Caja does depend on GVFS, which
handles mounting the drive automatically. If Caja doesn't show a side
pane, push the F9 key. In the side pane Caja does show an icon assigned
to the external drive. I don't know if you need to click or double
click the icon, just test it. Caja will open a window with the path to
the drive.
