Ubuntu 20.04.3 desktop (Cinnamon) - SSH disconnects when user logs off the desktop!

Yes, you are right.  I downloaded it in FF and get the zipped file.
How odd that Chrome unzips it without warning me, and in particular
leaving the .gz on the end.
