Have you tried either Seamonkey or Firefox, with the Bluhell firewall
plugin?
I rely on plugins, to block advertising, and, have a number of them
installed.
Whilst I do not get advertisements from Bluhell, I occasionally get
popups from some of the other plugins, saying that they have been
updated, and, asking for money, but, not often.
