My deepest apologies to the list and all those who jumped in and helped.
The problem was this. I have one of my alias files set to set-up a
series of environmental variables and actual aliases for easy access
between all the machines.
When I switched out from the LinkSys AC2200 and went back to my
previous router, all of those IP addresses changed - duh.
The one machine whose alias file I failed to update was my laptop. I
just fixed that, and voila, all variables and aliases are now
functioning perfectly.
Problem solved (pilot error).
Note to the wise: if you coordinate files between machines, make sure
they are all updated around the same time.
PS: I did reboot the router, and of course everything came back, very
quickly, and the same state occurred. I fixed the alias file and it
all works now.
Many, many thanks for all the great input.
Mark
