How to remove things from task bar

The thing that is on the left side of the display. It has the icons for tasks
that I have opened and my favorites. So to me that is a task bar.

Whatever is the default for Ubuntu 22.04.

The update to 22.04 added a mount icon for some partitions. A previous update
(not an upgrade) had added the trash icon to the "task bar".
Those two items I did not want because they took up space on the "task bar"
that required scrolling to get to someother icons. A previous message point me
to a place I could turn off the unwanted changes.
