Yes, but if the computer is not responsive and is, say, thrashing its
disk or something, you need to be able to log in to do that.
Since this is a last-resort method when it has apparently crashed, the
old Three Fingered Salute does not need a log-in or a response at all.
All you need to see is the screen go black and switch to text mode,
*maybe* show a cursor, and C+A+D _should_ work.
Maybe because I do not like spending much money on computers, many of
mine do not have much memory.
