Hello, Ralf

As a straight email application, and, as I understand that you are a
person who is reasonably knowledgeable of command line interfaces, have
you considered alpine (the email application formerly known as pine)?

I have found it to be the most powerful email application, and, whilst I
use claws email for a minor email account, I use Thunderbird as a
webmail application, and, alpine as my serious email application.
