Hi,

I'm just 56 years old and a technical nerd, but I already suffer from
new technology, too.

For a new Xubuntu install, English language, German keyboard, by default
I get two passwords for the same user ;), in my case the culprit is
that by default the assumed keyboard layout for the login greeter, is
different to the assumed keyboard layout for a Xfce session. This can be
fixed, but doesn't matter now.

If you change your password then use a password that is ok, whatever
keyboard you are using, a starting point is a password such as "1234".

One way to change the password is described by

Regards,
Ralf
