Printer install problem

I only ever install hplip direct from the HPLIP site at
https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing
and not the version from the Mint repos.

I hadn't come across cups-browsed before. I appear to have it, but it 
doesn't seem to be interfering with my hplip.
