well, you will need to read up about fastboot and how the android boot
process works first ...
you'll likely also have to tinker with the tablet and brick it a few
times before you understand it enough to move forward :)
once you got far enough to see kernel messages in a serial terminal or
even on screen (depends how well the kernel you use supports the
framebuffer console) the rest is trivial (create an ubuntu or debian
disk image and flash it to the correct partition, set kernel boot args
to find that partition ... done) ...

you might need to look into the source code of the tools used (most of
them are abandoned, but the functionality will indeed still be there
and should give you hints)
