So I'm clear, this is the installed version now and it's also the
version number you got from the .crash file?
The reason I'm asking is because there was an update to update-notifier
a few days ago. Originally, this update was part of a phased update
cycle, but because of errors reported, its deployment was stopped for
some days.. My system happened to be one of those that got the update
when it was about 40% (can't remember exactly at what percentage, just
that I got it before deployment was stopped) Because it started crashing
randomly I had to downgrade to a previous version. After update-notifier
went back into phase update I upgraded it 4 days ago and haven't had any
problems yet. But the kind of crash you had is similar to what I
experienced with the previous update which makes me curious about it.
Unfortunately, I don't have a solution. If it keeps happening, then I
guess you could try what I did by downgrading to the previous version
and then upgrading again. Couldn't begin to tell you why that worked
though. Probably coincidence, heh.
