Hi,
yes I see the check-bios-version-linux-link shows several solutions,
including the one I posted. My reply was aimed more at a Windows method
to get the BIOS information, since a We-do-not-support-Linux-technical-
support happened to give me this "hint" and I misunderstood that Linux
might not run on your machine, but eventually Windows does.
