Update: Shotwell objections and suggestions - Was: PhotoPrint

Just an update. The printing issue got a high priority, this might be
good news for the OP of the PhotoPrint thread who probably can replace
PhotoPrint by Shotwell. All those who want a good viewer probably need
to wait for another project and still have to continue using several
viewers and hope that the next updates won't render those viewers more
or less useless, due to odd design decisions.

This whole post should have been a message on discourse. Moving back to
a mailing list will not happen, and GNOME nicely provides me with this
infrastructure, so we also use this bug tracker. Not going to change as
well.

The edit functions are not for "photographers", they are for the average
user that just wants to touch up their images a bit.

Have you thought about not using Shotwell but something that more
matches your needs, like DigiKam?

Hi Jens,

until now I'm not satisfied with any viewer for my Linux desktop
machine, this does include DigiKam. A viewer is all I'm looking for and
until now no Linux viewer fits the needs of several other users and me,
so we usually use more than just one viewer. Please consider an option
to hide the editing features in the toolbar, this doesn't harm "the
average user that just wants to touch up their images a bit" and helps
those who don't need/want that editing features to keep the GUI clean
for their usage.

Ok, the other issues are more or less covered by other tickets.

I belong to the countless power users, testers, other long time
community members who will not resubscribe to discourse GNOME and FWIW
for several month there were no issues with gitlab GNOME, but since a
few days I couldn't log in anymore. I was getting absurd error messages.
Internet research confirms that those are issues that happen to a lot of
users again and again. This does not happen by using other
infrastructures, such as https://bugs.archlinux.org/ ,
https://github.com/ and many more.

I just want to provide a short reply/feedback, reopening the issue isn't
needed.

Usually I'm using larger font sizes, it's just for compatibility
comparison with different terminal colour themes.
