I want to have a local server with PXE/Netboot containing current versions of
the Ubuntu installer. How do I do that?
In the past, I have used this script:
ubuntumirror at ub180464:~$ less -X getUB1804netboots.sh
#!/bin/bash
host="http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/bionic/main/"
cmd="wget -nd -c -nv -N -r -L -P /Mirror/ubuntu/dists/bionic/main/"
mkdir -vp /Mirror/ubuntu/dists/bionic/main/installer-amd64/current/images/netboot/ubuntu-installer/amd64/
${cmd}installer-amd64/current/images/netboot/ubuntu-installer/amd64/
${host}/installer-amd64/current/images/netboot/ubuntu-installer/amd64/
mkdir -vp /Mirror/ubuntu/dists/bionic/main/installer-i386/current/images/netboot/ubuntu-installer/i386/
${cmd}installer-i386/current/images/netboot/ubuntu-installer/i386/
${host}/installer-i386/current/images/netboot/ubuntu-installer/i386/
But when I use sed s/bionic/focal/g on this script to create a version for
20.04, the resultant script does not work (I get a 404 error). Going to the
website, there is blather about a "new" installer and various point-and-click
access to server ISOs. What I am looking for is the proper images (vmlinuz and
initramfs files, etc.) for PXE/Netboot installers. Something I can put in a
script.
