exactly ... 

yet you derail it into a 
"how bad containerization/confinement of snaps is" topic ... 

a simple look at "snap info certbot" would have told you that it does
not use either but is a classic snap (and i know you know what a
classic snap is from plenty of former discussions we had) ... 

it does not contribute anything useful to the discussion or gives the
OP any useful hint either, except installing in the back of their brain
that snap is "problematic" and making them uncertain about the software
they wanted to install at all ...

this is not helpful for anyone ...
