Hello all,

A side note.

Ubuntu 22.04.3 introduced kernel v6.2 IIRC as the default.

Ubuntu 22.04.4 introduced kernel v6.5 as the default per
https://9to5linux.com/ubuntu-22-04-lts-is-now-powered-by-linux-kernel-6-5-from-ubuntu-23-10
.

You're possibly likely to get the newer 6.5 kernel with your next minor OS
update unless you hold it or some such.

From personal experience with Ubuntu server systems upgraded from 18.04 all
through 22.04, some seem to retain the older 5.15 kernel, while some get the
6.5 kernel. Systems that started out as fresh installs with Ubuntu 20.04 are
more often upgraded to kernel 6.5.
I haven't researched this in detail, but I think a change was made with
Ubuntu 20.04 wrt kernels.

Personally I run the HWE kernel on my WFH workstation as well as on my
office laptop.
Performance-wise, the 6.5 kernel seem faster even on my ancient WFH
workstation - a HP z440 E5-1650 v3 from 2014.
