Thank you Karl for taking the time to reply.
I'm playing with dump1090 which is working better than I had expected.
The start command is:
dump1090-mutability --interactive --net --net-http-port 8080
Entering "localhost:8080" results in "connection refused".
Maybe a difference between dump1090 and dump1090- mutability could be
the problem.
I'm almost certain that in years gone by entering "localhost" into a
browser didn't result in a "connection refused" message, but of course I
could be mistaken.
