That is soooo much more legible. Thanks. Now if I just knew what steps
to take next...

How safe is it to purge all those nvidia drivers, including the linux modules?

Safe as in:

1) Is it safe for the new boot (kernel 6.8.0.40)?
2) Is it safe for the currently working boots (doubtful...)?
3) How can I guarantee that the nouveau driver will come up in
nvidia's place? I've looked at the askUbunut answer, and it's good for
Ubuntu - is it safe for Xubuntu?
