Issue with UBuntu pro 22.04

I have ubuntu pro.

My npm version is 8.5.1 on a machine running UBunutu PRO
nodejs is 12.22.9

another machine not running pro has npm as version 9.6.7
nodejs is 18.17.1

Why is that ???
How do I get Ubuntu Pro to be later on UBuntu pro?
