I found the error. I have configured the USB storage device wrong. Now I
managed to install 24.04 on an USB stick, in a virtual machine.
Alas, there is one more problem. When I boot from that stick, I get a
message saying that the device (some device id) could not be found. And I
can't open the stick in my regular system, too. I get:
"Error mounting /dev/sdb2 at /media/v/073e7dcc-6860-4d72-
addb-397c0609c0ab: mount(2) system call failed: Structure needs cleaning"
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Volker
