Kernels galore and no NVIDIA driver in sight

I do not know whether this would suit you, and, other, more 
knowledgeable people may be better able to advise on this, but, the 
sequence of commands that I recommend, is

sudo -i
apt update
apt full-upgrade -y
apt autoremove -y
apt autoclean

then, if appropriate,

shutdown -r now
